Tim Berners Lee’s Life Story

April 9th, 2014

Have you ever wondered who created the internet?

Tim Berners Lee was  born in London , 1955. Tim is best known for creating the world wide web.

At a early age, Tim  became to love electronics. When he was older he built his own computer using: a soldiering iron, TTl gates, an M6800 processor and a old television. Soon later he worked on a bar code technology and writing typesetting software.

In 1989 he proposed a global  hypertext project to be known as the World Wide Web .

Tim is the currently the  director of the World Wide Web .He has recently written a book  named ‘weaving web’.

He also created the first web browser and the editor of the worlds first website (http:\\info.cern.ch.) which was launched on 6 August 1991. It explained what the world wide web  concept was and gave users an introduction to getting started with their own website. In 2001 he become a fellow of the Royal Society and later accepted several international awards including the Japan prize.

The internet has affected  a lot of people, in the way people communicate and life their lives. I think people should thank Tim for it.

Have you ever wondered who created the internet? Well Tim Burners Lee was the magnificent person who created  it and became known as the man who invented www (world wide web).. His parents were mathematicians and he was born in 1955, London. He used to love electronics from a young age.

When studying at Oxford he built his own computer using: a soldering iron, TTL gates, an M6800, a processor and an old television. In his early life he worked on a bar code technology; writing typesetting software etc. In 1989 he proposed a global hypertext project, which was to be the World Wide Web. Tim Berners Lee is currently the director of the World Wide Web consortium.

His full name is Timothy Berners Lee. He studied physics at at Oxford University and became a software engineer. He also created the first web browser and was the editor of the worlds first website – http://info.cern.ch was launched on 6 August 1991. It explained what the world wide web concept and gave users an introduction to getting started with their own website.

He has promoted open government data globally, is a member of the UK’s Transparency Board, and President of London’s  Open Data Institute. In 2001 he became a fellow of the Royal Society. He has been the recipient of several international awards including the Japan prize.

Tim Berners Lee was the man who invented World Wide Web. He is important because he changed the way people over the world communicate.

He was born in 1955 in London to parents who were both mathematicians and from an early age he loved electronics.

In 1976 he graduated as a physic major from Oxford University. He built the first computer using soldering iron, a TTL gate, an M68OO processor and also an old television - “Anyone  who has track of time when using a computer knows the propensity to dream, the urge to make dreams come true and the  tendency to miss lunch.”

His early jobs were working with barcode technology, writing type setting software, writing a generic macro language working on FASTBUS system software and  designing a heterogeneous remote procedure call system.

In 1980 he wrote but never published his first programme called ‘Enquire’ which for shadowed his later work on the World Wide Web (www). In 1889 he propoced  a global hypertext project or also known as WWW. He said, “That idea of URL was the basic clue to the Universality of the Web. That was the only thing  I insisted upon.”

Tim Berners Lee is currently the  Director of the WWW Consortium, the group that sets technical standards for the internet for which the important thing is that it is managed responsibly. He has also written a book entitled “Weaving the Web.”

Tim Berner’s Lee changed our lives by inventing the world wide web.  It has changed the way people communicate and live their lives as well as how they search for information.

Tim Berners Lee was the man who invented WWW (World Wide Web). He is important because he changed society by inventing the internet.

He was born in 1955 in London. Both of his parents were mathematicians. He loved electronics from an early age.

He grew up as a successful man. He graduated as a physic major from Oxford University in 1976. Whilst he was there, he built the first computer using only a soldering iron, TTL gate, an M68OO processor and an old television.

His early jobs were working on barcode technology, writing typesetting software, writing a generic macro language, working on FASTBUS system software and designing a heterogeneous remote procedure call system.

Later, in 1980 he wrote, but never produced, his first programme called “Enquire,” which later foreshadowed his later work on WWW. In 1989, he proposed a global hypertext project AKA the World Wide Web. From then a lot of people started to buy the computers and Tim soon became successful in engineering and business. He said,” It is about getting excited about connections, rather than nervous.” It inspired people to work on the internet to find out more.

Tim Berners-Lee is currently the director of WWW Consortium, the group that sets technical standards for the web. He then wrote a book, entitled “Weaving the Web”.

We can learn that if we work hard and have patience, we can achieve anything! It has affected us by inspiring us that we can change the world!  “Anyone who has track of time when using a computer knows the propensity to dream, the urge to make dreams come true and the tendency to miss lunch.” Without him, you wouldn’t have been reading this and I wouldn’t be writing this!

In 1989 he proposed a global hypertext project, to be known of the world wide web. Based on the early enquire system work  together by combining their knowledge with hypertext.

His life has affected people by helping them doing there homework helping them to find places on the google map and also by booking a holiday. On the bad side it could come up with not very good pictures or adverts with rude photos .

Tim Berners Lee – legend?

Tim Berners Lee was the leading man in the creation of the World Wide Web (the internet) he was born 8th June 1955 in London. He’s important because he changed society.

His parents were both mathematicians working on the Ferranti Mark I computer. He developed a love of electronics from an early age. He graduated as physics major at Oxford University in 1976; while at Oxford he built his first computer using a soldering iron, TTL gates and an old television. His early jobs included: working with a generic macro language, working on a FASTBUS system and designing a heterogeneous remote procedure call system.

He then went onto design the world wide web (which was proposed in 1989) which when created changed the lifestyle of billions. It changed the way we work, the way we live; basically it has changed our lives through this magnificent creation.

What Tim Berners Lee has done that is so important? It has changed the way future generations will operate. Opportunities are endless – people can change everything in their lives if they reach for the stars however it if used incorrectly it can affect others in a way that cannot be reversed.
